cheerful I happened to be in Amritsar on the night of Guru Nanak Dev Jayanthi. When I first realised that it was an important occasion, I thought to myself: "I am sooo dead, the Golden teample would be a sea of people". But I was pleasantly (and very much) surprised that everything was very calm and peaceful. Everybody behaved and seemed to do so very naturally. This is one place of worship that is truly amazing. Pictures from the night (I missed the annual display of fireworks by an hour or so).
